2017 Paws for a Cause Weekend

Family, friends and their furry four-legged family members are invited to join in on all the doggie fun this weekend to benefit the local Second Chance Animal Shelter. Details are as follows:
Saturday, August 19
10am-6pm – Take your pooch on a scenic gondola ride.
7:30-8:30am: Heels to Paws 5K Registration in East Wing Base lodge.
9-10am: Heels to Paws 5K – Race will start from the courtyard, $20 registration is given as a donation to the Second Chance Animal Shelter located in Shaftsbury, VT.
10am: Heels to Paws 5K Award Ceremony held in the Courtyard
10-4pm: Splash Party! – Dog Pools and Bowls will be set up throughout the village giving your furry friends a chance to cool down and rehydrate during their summer in the Green Mountains.
11-4pm: Second Chance Shelter Adopt-a-thon (Village) – Second Chance Animal Shelter will be stationed in the Village as they look to find new homes for their furry friends.
11-4pm: Doggie Fun Zone (Base Area) – Bring your dog to town and have them compete in this fast paced, interactive and highly entertaining fun and run multi-dimensional obstacle course. With a ranked leaderboard and prized presented by Mulligans and Tito’s Vodka
1-4pm: In the Village – face painter, caricaturist, doggie Polaroid pgotos, raffle to benefit Second Chance.
3-3:30pm: Paws for a Cause Contest – Show off your talented pooch. Owner and dog will enter as a pair for the following contests: best kisser, best trick, best bark, best tail wag. All participants get one entry into a drawing to win prizes (one dog per owner, one entry per pair)
3-6pm: The Long Road Home – Village Music
4pm: Yappy Hour – (Presented by Harpoon) – Visit the Beer’s Den in the Main Base for special drink and treat deals.
Sunday, August 20
10am-4pm – Take your pooch on a scenic gondola ride.
8-9am – Doggie & Me Hike to Mid Mountain – Enjoy the outdoors accompanied by your four legged friends. This guided mid-mountain hike leaves from outside the North Face storefront
10am-2pm: Doggie Fun Zone Couse (Base Area) – Bring your dog to town and have them compete in this fast paced, interactive and highly entertaining fun and run multi-dimensional obstacle course. With a ranked leaderboard,
