First Sunday Free: Bee Happy
May 6 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm UTC-4
Enjoy our last First Sunday Free program of the season with a day celebrating “Clark Buzz,” the honey bee initiative at the Clark. As part of ArtWeek at the Clark, admission to the galleries is free all day, and bee-themed activities will be hosted from 1–4 pm. Learn about bees and the Clark’s new rooftop apiaries, get your hands dirty making an arsenal of native seed bombs, create your own beeswax candle, and taste the Clark’s first batch of honey. Back in the galleries, take a closer look at our collection with a focus on pollinators and pollination in art.
At 2 pm, Director Olivier Meslay joins Grounds Manager Matthew Noyes and local beekeeper Dave Thayer in the auditorium to discuss the Clark’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and the new honeybee project, “Clark Buzz,” during a public conversation.
All activities and admission to the galleries are free as part of the Clark’s First Sundays Free program, supported by funding from the officers and employees of Allen & Company, Inc.
