International Vulture Awareness Day

Sep 2, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm UTC-4

The first Saturday in September is International Vulture Awareness Day! Come join us to learn about these amazing, ecologically important creatures, and even meet a few up close. Help spread awareness of the conservation issues facing vulture species in Africa, Asia, and here in North America, while you fly through our vulture scavenger hunt. Compare your wingspan to that of a Turkey Vulture, or an Andean Condor, and find out how much you would need to eat if you were a vulture. We’ll explore how vultures are viewed in human cultures throughout history, and how our health relies on these birds doing what they do best.
