Magnificent Mammals Day
Join us for a day exploring the amazing lives of mammals. Discover the specialties of our furred cousins and find out how important they are to the natural world. You’ll meet live mammals in presentations by Squam Lakes Natural Science Center at 11:00 am and Wildlife Encounters at 2:00 pm. In addition there will be face painting, pelts and skulls, hands-on activities and crafts. It’s sure to be a magnificent day!

Show your love of mammals by getting your face painted and getting crafty.

All Day Mammal Biofacts
Come by our Biofact table and discover the amazing adaptations which mammals possess. You’ll feel pelts and compare skulls.

11:00 New England Wildlife (presented by Squam Lakes Natural Science Center)
Are you curious about the critters that inhabit the New England states? Join a Squam Lakes Natural Science Center naturalist to meet wild mammals that you could encounter in our forests, fields, or wetlands. Discover what makes them well-suited for life in New England.

2:00 Global Wildlife (presented by Wildlife Encounters)
Mammals are diverse and adaptable and have taken up residence in nearly every habitat earth provides! Join Wildlife Encounters as they take you on an imaginary safari from deserts to rain-forest where you’ll meet seven magnificent mammals in person. From a Fox with extremely long ears to the “little kangaroos” of Australian grasslands, you’ll be awed by this diverse array of creatures.
