Grandma Moses, American Folk Artist, Collection
The Bennington Museum boasts the largest collection of Grandma Moses art and memorabilia available for public viewing in the country. The collection is so vast that her works change regularly but a selection is always on display. Other galleries include Military History, Contemporary Art, Gilded Age Vermont, and Bennington Modernism Exhibition.
In 2014, the museum was recognized by The Wall Street Journal for one of the “most memorable exhibitions” in North America (Alice Neel/Erastus Salisbury Field: Painting the People). In 2015, Bennington Museum was again recognized by Yankee Magazine’s Best of New England Editor’s Choice for “Best Museum Makeover.” And, in 2016, they again received national recognition from both The Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe.
