Brattleboro Country Club – Vermont’s First Golf Course Designed by Tom MacNamara
In 1899, local residents formed the Wantastiquet Golf Club and established a six hole course near the present site. The property then was owned by the Brattleboro Retreat, and, in 1914, local businessmen incorporated the “Brattleboro Country Club.” Tom MacNamara, US Golf Pro, then designed the 2,754-yard nine-hole layout for the opening of the club on July 1, 1914. The golf course today meshes new with old – it was expanded in 2000 – fearuring ample elevation, charming variety, and pleasing views at every turn.
What’s more, you can enjoy the course on an GolfBoard, featuring an ergonomically designed thumb throttle which allows the user to smoothly accelerate and decelerate. An intelligent LED meter, providing details about the electric power supply level, and all switches and controls are mounted on the dash for easy access. Hit the linx in style at Brattleboro Country Club with a Golf Board!
