Sugarbush Farm is Owned by 4th Generation Family Members
Sugarbush Farm is a 550-acre hillside farm established by Jack and Marion Ayres, who bought it in 1945 with a dream to make a go of country living. In 1975 the Boston Globe called it a cheese lover’s paradise, and, in 1995, the American Cheese Society awarded it a Blue ribbon for the best smoked cheese in the country. In the springtime the family makes maple syrup from their 8,500 trees.
Regarding its namesake, each Spring sap is collected from over 8,500 trees and boiled to make syrup, which you can buy on their website, along with farm fresh and aged cheeses, jams and jellies, honey, pickles, mustard, and more. With over 50 head of cattle to take care of, there are also many animals to see and activities to participate in on this working farm.
