Ball Mountain Lake periodically releases water in conjunction with the seasonal drawdowns of their pool.  The upshot is Class One and Two rapids for kayaking and canoeing.  Hiking via the West River Trail is also a popular activity.

Hamilton Falls culmination of Cobb Brook’s gentle meandering over relatively level terrain before dramatically descending over 125 feet.  There is also a hiking trail and a moderately popular swimming hole but swim at your risk as there have been deaths.

Alex and Dean Fraser have been running this general store for about a month, which was formerly a cafe.  As it stands, North Country General is trying to be community place to hang out for young families, and the Fraser’s hope to add live music to the mix this summer.  Thus far, they have received a lot of help from the community, and that is kind of the point.  In Alex’s words from a recent local interview, “They’ve welcomed us with open arms, and that’s huge.”
