Weston (West Town) was originally the western part of her sister town, Andover. But, because Terrible Mountain made travel difficult, the legislature incorporated it as a town in 1799. And by 1859 the population was almost 1,000 and town had ten sawmills, tanners, shoemakers, and other industries.  Many buildings have been pristinely restored, but don’t worry as modern amenities have been added too.
